Shooting my stop-motion typography assignment, which involved a friend taking a series of quick photos of me holding the 20” x 30” sign I printed of my typography.

For the Motion assignment, I created each page in InDesign (175 pages) along with 100 Photos in total for the 1 minute video.
Motion Assignment Concepts
For the Motion assignment from the beginning I planned to incorporate photography of a person holding a sign, either moving with stop-motion or having a preset typography slide printed and moving the print-out itself.
These concepts were to take place in front of OCAD U in the middle of McCaul St. but due to horrible weather, early sunsets and traffic on the street, it was done in a forest in Brampton.

Typography Book Project
In Typography class I took the opportunity to make my book a piece of “design for social good”. The theme is “The Little Boy from Haiti” which benefits ACCESS as well as raises awareness of the unjust situation taking place in Haiti today - using design to motivate people to take action or at least remind them that the problem still exists.

Sequential Narrative
This assignment involved choosing a piece of text with a minimum number of words; I had selected a number of Haiti poems or essays, none of which were long enough for the requirement but had great content.
I switched from a text about Anderson Cooper, The Haitian Hero, to one that was less focused on a CNN celebrity host and news anchor. My final selection was called The Little Boy from Haiti, which was slightly short in length but had a great message that I could also apply some of my own photos from Haiti to!

The first assignment was completed and printed in poster-size 16 x 20. This final design has much more whitespace than any previous version, and has slightly brighter colours, while still using the same typefaces (Clarendon and Helvetica).
